This unique handmade porcelain mug is one of a kind. The embossed relief design heightens the tactile experience. Great for texture lovers! The high-footed, press-molded bottom lifts the mug off the table, giving a 'floating' impression. The outside surface is mindfully handpainted with underglazes in an abstract, graphic composition. A combination of glossy glaze highlight, a satin clear base glaze and runny lavender mist glaze on the handle and highlights in the 'sky' completes the final outer finish.
The handle is distinctive in style, is a comfortable 2-finger hold (for my medium lady hands), and complements the shape and surface design. Glossy clear glaze lines the inside, giving it a durable, foodsafe and long-lasting finish. The foot ring and all other unglazed surface areas are sealed with Liquid Quartz ceramic sealer - a waterproof and stain-resistant finish.
This cup is foodsafe and microwave safe. It can also be put in the dishwasher, although handwashing handmade ceramics is always recommended.
** This mug is a 'second' (slightly flawed) and offered at a discount. There is a cosmetic glaze blemish at the aqua section (pictured), which does not affect the strength or durability of the mug.
