The outside surface is mindfully handpainted with underglazes in an abstract, graphic composition, with a small slip dotted pond. A combination of gloss glaze highlights, and satin glaze completes the final outer finish. The unique pulled double handle is distinctive in style with a thumb nubbin, is a very comfortable 3-finger hold (for my medium lady hands), and complements the shape and surface design of this mug. Clear glossy glaze lines the inside, giving it a durable, foodsafe and long-lasting finish. The foot and all other unglazed surface areas are sealed with Liquid Quartz ceramic sealer - a waterproof and stain-resistant finish.
This mug is foodsafe and microwave safe. It can also be put in the dishwasher, although handwashing handmade ceramics is always recommended.
** This mug is a 'second' (slightly flawed) and offered at a discount. There are pinholes on the lower green and aqua areas (pictured close up) - these are cosmetic flaws that do not affect the strength, durability or food safety of the mug.
